When you visit or interact with our websites, services, applications, tools, or messages, we or our authorized service providers may use cookies, web beacons, HTML5 Local Storage, and other similar technologies to store information for the purpose of providing you with a better, faster, and more secure experience, as well as for advertising purposes. This page is intended to provide you with more insight into these technologies and their use on our websites and in our services, applications, and tools. Below is a summary of some important things you should know about our use of such technologies. You can view the full Cookie Policy for users below.

Our cookies and similar technologies serve various functions. They are necessary for the operation of our services, help us improve performance, offer you additional functionalities, or assist us in displaying relevant and targeted advertisements. We use both session cookies (which remain on your device only while your browser is active) and persistent cookies (which remain on your device for an extended period). You are free to block, delete, or disable these technologies if your device allows it. You can manage your cookies and cookie preferences in your browser or device settings.

Where possible, security measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access to our cookies and similar technologies. A unique identification code ensures that only we and/or our authorized service providers have access to cookie data.

Service providers are companies that assist us with various aspects of our service, such as site operations, services, applications, advertisements, and tools. We use several authorized service providers to help display relevant advertisements to you on our services and elsewhere on the internet. These service providers may also place cookies on your device through our services (third-party cookies). They may collect information that helps them identify your device, such as an IP address or other unique device IDs.

What are cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies?

Like most websites, we use technologies that essentially consist of small data files placed on your computer, tablet, mobile phone, or other devices (collectively referred to as "device") that allow us to capture certain information when you visit or interact with our websites, services, applications, messages, and tools, and to recognize you across different devices.

The specific names and types of cookies, web beacons, unique identification data, and similar technologies we use to collect information (e.g., about the pages you view, the links you click on, and other actions you take on our Services, in our advertisements, or email content) may change from time to time. See the following explanations of terminology and definitions to help you better understand our use of cookies:

  • Cookies - small text files (typically consisting of letters and numbers) placed in your browser's or device's memory when you visit a website or view a message. Cookies allow a website to recognize a specific device or browser. There are different types of cookies:
  1. Session cookies expire at the end of your browser session and enable us to link your actions during that specific browser session.
  2. Persistent cookies are stored on your device between browser sessions, allowing us to remember your preferences or actions across multiple sessions.
  3. First-party cookies are set by the site you visit.
  4. Third-party cookies are set by an external site separate from the site you visit.

Cookies can be disabled or deleted using tools available in most commercial browsers. Preferences for each browser you use must be set separately, and different browsers offer different functionality and options.

  • Web beacons - small graphic images (also known as "pixel tags" or "clear GIFs") that may be included on our websites, services, applications, messages, and tools, usually used in conjunction with cookies to identify our users and user behavior.
  • Similar technologies - technologies that store information in your browser or device using local shared objects or local storage, such as flash cookies, HTML5 cookies, and other web application software. These technologies can be used in all your browsers and may not always be fully managed by your browser, requiring direct management through your installed applications or device. We do not use these technologies to store information for targeted advertising on or off our sites.

We may interchangeably use the terms "cookies" or "similar technologies" in our policy to refer to all technologies we may use to store data in your browser or device or collect information or assist in identifying you as described above.

Your choice and our use of cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies

We provide certain site functionality, services, applications, and tools that are only available through the use of these technologies. You are always free to block, delete, or disable these technologies if your browser, installed application, or device allows it. However, if you refuse cookies or other similar technologies, you may not be able to take advantage of certain site functionalities, services, applications, or tools, and you may need to re-enter your password more often during your browser session. Consult your browser or device settings for more information on how to block, delete, or disable these technologies.

In general, these technologies enable our websites, services, applications, and tools to store relevant information in your browser or device and later read that information to identify you to our servers or internal systems. Where applicable, we protect our cookies and other similar technologies to ensure that only we and/or our authorized service providers can access them by assigning them a unique ID. We do not store personal data in our cookies or similar technologies.

All personal data we collect and store through the use of these technologies is obtained with notice and consent: we obtain your consent by providing you with transparent notice of the use of these technologies and, as described herein, giving you the opportunity to choose to disable these technologies.

Our use of such technologies falls into the following general categories:

  • Operationally Necessary. We may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies that are necessary for the operation of our websites, services, applications, and tools. This includes technologies that grant you access to our sites, services, applications, and tools, identify irregular site behavior, prevent fraudulent activities, and enhance security, or enable you to use our features like shopping carts.
  • Performance-Related. We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies to assess the performance of our websites, applications, services, and tools, such as helping us understand how our visitors use our websites, determine whether you have interacted with our communication tools, or if you've viewed an item or link, and to improve our website, applications, services, or tools.
  • Functionality-Related. We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies that allow us to offer you enhanced functionality when visiting or using our websites, services, applications, or tools. For example, identifying you when you sign in to our sites or tracking your specified preferences, interests, or items from previous visits so we can enhance content presentation on our sites.
  • Advertising or Targeting-Related. We may use first-party or third-party cookies and web beacons to display content, including advertisements, that are relevant to your interests on our sites or on third-party sites. This includes using technologies to gain insight into the usefulness of advertisements and content delivered to you, such as whether you clicked on a particular ad.

Opting out of our first-party advertising-related cookies or third-party cookies and web beacons as described below does not necessarily mean you won't see our ads – only that these ads will not be targeted using first-party or third-party cookies, web beacons, or related technologies.

If you wish to opt out of all other types of technologies we use on our sites, services, applications, or tools, you can do so by blocking, deleting, or disabling them as your browser or device permits.

Use of these technologies by authorized third-party service providers

We may collaborate with third-party companies, such as advertising networks and advertising exchange programs, to enable us to display advertisements to you. The operators of these third-party advertising networks and exchange programs may place third-party cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to collect information. They may also collect your device ID, IP address, IDFA (Identifier for Advertising), or Android ID. The information collected by these third parties may be used to help us target/retarget ads that are more relevant to you through our or third-party websites, services, applications, and tools. For these third-party cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies, their privacy policies apply.

Use of Analytics Tools

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"), to continually improve our website. Google Analytics uses cookies stored on your computer and similar technology that allows the analysis of your use of our website, applications, services, and tools. Information about your use of our online services (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in Europe (or a member state of the European Economic Area agreement) to anonymize the IP address, preventing it from being traceable to a person. Only after the IP address has been anonymized is the shortened IP address transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there. In exceptional cases, the full IP address may be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and then shortened. Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide us with other services related to website activity and internet usage. Your IP address will not be merged with other data stored by Google.

We also use Google Analytics reports to evaluate anonymous information about the demographics (e.g., age and gender) and interests of our website visitors, as well as the success of our advertisements on other websites (e.g., number of impressions, ad clicks) obtained through third-party cookies and processed in Google Analytics. These third-party providers have obtained this information through interest-related ads. We also use this anonymous information for targeting and retargeting purposes to provide content tailored to your interests, including ads, on our and other websites or to have such content delivered by third parties (in connection with the use of third-party cookies).

Deactivate Google Analytics

You can refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser, but please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website. Additionally, you can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and Google from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

You can find more information about this at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html (general information about Google Analytics and data protection). We would like to point out that Google Analytics on our website has been expanded with the code "gat._anonymizeIp ();" to ensure anonymous collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).

You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting IP addresses by clicking on the following link: Disable Google Analytics.

Depending on your operating system, you can prevent Google Analytics from being used on our mobile website by changing the settings on your mobile device.

If you only want to disable or modify Google Analytics to display content tailored to your interests, including ads, you can do so in "Google Ads on the Internet" in Google's ad settings.

Hotjar

Hotjar is an online analysis tool that allows us to see how our users use our website. This tool helps us develop new features and understand how current features are being used. This is done by anonymously recording web sessions. The tool also measures how our forms are filled out and where people drop off. Hotjar is an American tool, and the information is anonymized and stored on American servers. You can opt out of this tool by clicking on the link below. https://www.hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out

Intercom

We use the online communication tool Intercom to provide our customers with an optimal service experience. With Intercom, you can chat directly with our customer service. Our emails also go through Intercom. If you have ever chatted with us through the Intercom tool (located at the bottom right), your information, such as your email address, is stored in this tool. This information is stored on Intercom's American servers. We only use this information for customer service purposes. If you do not want your data to be stored by Intercom, you must disable the cookie using the "online choices" link below. If you want us to delete your information, you must submit a deletion request to us. http://www.youronlinechoices.eu

Except for the use of such technologies by our service providers or other authorized third parties, we do not allow third parties to place or use cookies, web beacons, local storage, or similar technologies for tracking purposes or to collect your personal data for their own purposes on our sites. If you believe that a third party may be collecting personal data or using tracking technologies on any of our sites, please report it to service@yummygums.com.
